Shall We Start....Again!!!

So we are to begin…again?

My plan for getting healthy, wealthy and wise in 365 days started two years ago. I had this great idea that since I was “out of shape” and I used to be “in shape” AND I was playing golf “poorly” and is used to play golf “well” then why not do all that again?

Sounds easy…? Start on your birthday (or any other significant day.) Slowly over 12 months…365 day…until your next ____day and viola, I/you would be in great shape with a single digit golf handicap.

Except we live in the world of “reality” which is partly why I choose 365 days. Sure the infomercials all state that you can achieve the “perfect” body…golf skill, in just 30 minutes/90 days/10 minutes a day….blah…blah…blah. But you really can’t if you do those “other” things in life that some of us do. Work, go to the movies, rake the leaves, do laundry, help/watch the kids do their homework/sports. You know all that stuff that has to be done….before you go to the gym/driving range. And then…bam you or someone gets sick and you lose a week or two on your training. Can you say “Starting all over?”

So this is what happened to my blog/book on the “365 Day to Health and Success” Stuff happened and now it has been 730 days.to Health…blah…blah…blah. And I’m still sort of at the beginning.

So employing a little creative license, I’m going to start all over again. I may not be in as bad of shape both physically and golfaly (made up word) But we will attempt to start at the beginning in “my” world and end up 365 days from now….in shape both physically as well a s golfaly.

Since I like using a number scheme (365) I find that this year is the perfect year to launch the ol’ 365.
Data: I turned 59 on my latest birthday (starting 365) which means at the end of our journey I will be the BIG 60.
More data: My father’s last birthday on this planet was his 59th. He made it to 59 years 4 months. So as the only son of my Dad (and Mom) this is an important mortality year.
I will be glad when I pass the 59/4month date. Now I know all of the factors that lead to my Father’s passing are not in my life, but still it is something that we think about.

So we will begin.

I am 59…weight: 252….golf handicap: 25. Can’t run a mile. As has been previously stated in other blogs….I was (at 30 yrs old) 185 and could run…race 6.2 miles in under 40 minutes (6:30 pace per mile) also during that time ran a marathon, a couple of half marathons…tons of 10Ks, a couple of Triathlons. Golfwise…at 17, I had a legitimate USGA 7 handicap.
So I was pretty good at these things. But now I’m not.

I hope to show you in the next 365 days how I change myself and in doing so maybe I can enlighten others who can move in a better direction, be it health or golf or both.
As always I welcome any input, be it positive or constructive.
